Back in January 2006 Dandie Dinmont Terrier Breeders and enthusiasts from all over the world converged on Coventry, England for a breed crisis meeting called Dandie Dinmont — from Vulnerable to Viable to discuss the decline in the breeds world wide population and how this could be address in the future to ensure the long term viability of this delightful breed of dog. The event received national publicity and the lovely Emma Massey filmed a short piece for BBC Midlands Today TV. The piece was great fun and Emma took Margaret Russell’s lovely mustard dog, Fergus to a Coventry shopping centre to see how many members of the public could identify the breed. The fact that no one could emphasis just one of the problems the breed has to face up to, that of not being a very well known breed like (say) the Westie. This short film also shows what good natured, affectionate, Happy and attractive dogs Dandie Dinmont Terriers are. I am a proud Dandie owner in Canada with a UK connection as one of my Dandies, a little mustard dog, is the offspring of Cloverwood’s Dandie Dazzle. My little pepper Lizzie is 12-1/2 years old.

What she actually says is DULUX dog. Here in the UK DULUX is a brand of paint and they use the Old English Sheepdog in their advertising, hence the breed is also known as a Dulux Dog, much the same as the Rough Collie is known as the Lassie Collie!
So pleased you enjoyed this clip, do please check out my other Dandie Dinmont items.

I love Dandie Dinmonts, and I would love to own one.
I used to have a Cairn Terrier, but I think I like Dandies more.
wow!!
really lovely.
very cute;)
but My dog is also? lovely hahaha(^v^)
I love the look of this breed. I can’t believe how stupid the people are in this video. These are such BRITISH DOGS, how can they not know??
I used to know a Dandie Dinmont terrier called Tosca. He was a joy to be with, always wonderful company, affectionate and intelligent and he was very old but no sign of grumpiness. Lovely dogs, people just can’t know about them or they would be very popular.
SWEDISH DANDY NUMBER ONE…
